Changing Non-Owned Releases

Changes can be made to new non-owned releases when they are created or after they are completed. For more information on making changes to non-owned releases while adding them, see Adding Non-Owned Releases.

To make changes to an open non-owned release and/or to complete the open non-owned release

1. At the Customer field, enter the six character customer ID code.

If you are uncertain of the customer code, see Navigating Net Yield - Selecting a Customer ID Code.

2. A Select A Location window appears and displays the following choices: EXIT, followed by a listing of all locations. Highlight the appropriate location and press Enter or select EXIT to return to customer field.

Note: If there is only one location in the location table, that location will be defaulted and the selection window is bypassed.

3. A Select An Option window appears and displays the following choices: NEW RELEASE, PICK RELEASE, and EXIT.

 

Select PICK RELEASE.

4. Select the release to change by scrolling down the list of open releases and pressing Enter. Command options will appear:

 

Select Update to save the released non-owned item.

6. Once you select Update to save the release, the system will verify that all non-owner lots used on the release have sufficient balances to accommodate the release. Non-owner lots cannot have a negative amount. If a problem is discovered, the following message will appear: "Non-Owner lot balance deficiency. Update ABORTED!!." Otherwise, a different message will display: "Updating files, please wait..." while the release is written to the system. The release number is assigned at this time and displays in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

If the carrier assigned to the release requires a bill of lading, a Select An Option window will appear with the following options:

 

You can also access open releases by leaving the customer ID field blank and pressing Enter. A Select An Option window will display the following options:

 

Scroll to select the release to change and press Enter. The system will return you to Step 3 above.

To make changes to completed releases

1. At the Customer field, enter the six character customer ID code.

2. A Select A Location window appears and displays the following choices: EXIT, followed by a listing of all locations. Highlight the appropriate location and press Enter or select EXIT to return to customer field.

3. A Select An Option window appears and displays the following choices: NEW RELEASE, PICK RELEASE, and EXIT.

 

Select PICK RELEASE.

4. A selection box will display completed releases for the specified customer and location specified. Command options will appear: Select Release and Exit.

6. Make the necessary changes and select Update. Once you select Update to save the release, the system will verify that all non-owner lots used on the release have sufficient balances to accommodate the release. Otherwise, a different message will display: "Updating files, please wait..." while the release is written to the system. If you select DON'T Complete Release, the release will not be completed and will appear on the PICK RELEASE option that appeared in the Select An Option window which displayed when you chose to start the release process.

 

Important: Your changes will not be saved unless you select Update.
